Collecting small memories
I keep small things from ordinary days: a photo, a few stitches, something baked, or time with my cats
I like small routines. I make coffee, take photos, crochet, bake, and sit with my cats. These moments slow me down.
They do not need to be productive. They help me notice what is in front of me.
Photography as a pause
I often photograph ordinary things. It may be afternoon light on a table or a cat asleep in a familiar place. Taking the photo makes me stop and look.
Making something slowly
Crochet asks me to repeat one small action. Baking asks me to wait. Neither can be hurried much. I can see the progress as a row grows or the ingredients change.
Coffee is often beside me. It marks a quiet break in the day.
A collection without a system
I do not turn every memory into a story. A photo can stay a photo. A handmade object can stay on a shelf.
The things I keep do not need a theme. I keep them because they remind me how the day felt.
That is the collection: small proof that I was paying attention.
